What is the Basque country best known for? Breathtaking nature, exceptional food and wine, ground-breaking modern architecture (the Guggenheim Museum) … and world-class furniture design and manufacturing.

Critically acclaimed furniture design brand, Enea, was established by Eredu S. Coop and initially began as a manufacturer of outdoor furniture. In 1984 Enea turned their craft towards the design of modern home and office furniture and have become an icon of modern design, producing unique work across living, working and public spaces.

Based proudly in the Basque country, Enea’s ethos is intrinsically linked to the rich culture and heritage of the Basque people and the surrounding environment, creating pieces that are a crucial balance of integrity, function and design. “Everything we do revolves around designing products with a strong sense of belonging. The same pride we feel for our work we also feel for our surroundings.”

Inspired by the nature and landscapes around them, Enea’s processes are sustainably driven and, using innovative engineering techniques, they have continued to delight with designs of versatility, comfort and functionality.

Enea places a strong emphasis on collaborations with both local and international designers. They believe that these relationships facilitate a greater depth of knowledge that enriches the design and manufacturing process. One such collaboration is with Spanish design studio Lievore Altherr Molina. Founded by Alberto Lievore, Jeannette Altherr and Manel Molina in 1991, this influential studio has a humanist design approach, creating pure, beautiful forms that are informed by function, technology and context.

This particular partnership produced the stunning Lottus chair. Accurately described as elegant, functional and comfortable, this chair is simple in design. The slim-line frame and legs are quality chromed steel and the durable polypropylene shell supports the back as it flows down to an ample seat. With the added bonus of being easily stackable, storage becomes straightforward and space economic.

We have the Lottus chair available in a classic white shell seat with coloured seat pads, offering not only a playful pop of colour, but additional comfort whilst seated. The Lottus aesthetic makes this chair suitable for many different environments; from the office, to hospitality venues, or around the kitchen table.

Quality manufacturing meets intelligent and simple design with the Lottus chair, so do yourself a favour and add some personality to your work or home space.
