Catifa 46 Chair by Arper

Catifa 46 Chair by Arper

Founded in 1989, Arper are relative newcomers to the furniture design world. Yet the Italian design house has quickly defined itself as a pioneer of state-of-the-art manufacturing processes, creating innovative products that explore the relationship between product, space, people and human networks.

With a strong focus on sustainability, the Arper design ethos revolves around six concepts: balance, family, intuition, light, colour and play: “We design for the world we want to live in.

Arper also places a strong emphasis on the sharing and broadening of knowledge through international design partnerships. One such collaboration with design team Lievore Altherr Molina, produced the classic Catifa 46 range. A testament to design simplicity, this collection is a perfect fusion of versatility and functionality and is widely regarded as the pinnacle of minimalist elegance.

The sleek profile of the Catifa 46 chair is complemented by a shell seat, specifically designed and manufactured in high quality materials to provide ultimate flexibility - the overall effect is a reflection of the enduring relationship between form and function.

This collection has been manufactured in a range of materials, bases and finishes and we are fortunate enough to have the Catifa 46 in a black shell with a technical base. This 4-leg base (also in black) has the added bonus of being easily stackable. The shell seat is produced in high quality plastic and is topped with an upholstered seat pad for extra comfort. We have these toppers available in a charcoal grey and mint green, complimenting the black shell perfectly.

These internationally renowned premium visitor chairs project a crispness and elegance that would be a superb addition to any home, office or commercial environment.

The Catifa 46 range is one of the most heavily replicated designs in the furniture industry, so be wary of purchasing copies. These replicas usually resort to inferior quality materials to cut costs, resulting in little to no flexibility of form and consequently an uncomfortable experience.
