Artifort Comfort 905

Artifort Comfort 905

Honestly, the Comfort 905 by Artifort isn’t just a sales name. It could well be the most comfortable lounge we have ever sat on.

Artifort, a renowned Dutch furniture brand founded by Jules Wagemans in 1890, gained widespread fame in the 1950s due to its innovative designs and commitment to quality. The brand's success during this era can be attributed to its collaboration with celebrated designers such as Pierre Paulin and Geoffrey Harcourt. Paulin, known for his sculptural and organic forms, created iconic pieces like the Ribbon Chair and the Mushroom Chair, which became symbols of modernist design.

Introduced in 1964, the Comfort 905 lounge was designed by Artifort's in-house designer, Kho Liang Ie. Known for his minimalist and functional approach, Kho Liang Ie created the 905 lounge to embody both aesthetic simplicity and ergonomic comfort. Over the decades, the 905 lounge has maintained its iconic status, becoming a symbol of timeless elegance and a favorite among design enthusiasts and collectors worldwide. Its enduring appeal lies in its ability to seamlessly integrate into various interior styles, from mid-century modern to contemporary, while offering unparalleled comfort and durability.

We currently have a full a 3-piece suite of the Comfort 905 available.
