Fritz Hansen Model 3600 Dining Table – Arne Jacobsen
Arne Jacobsen is one of the most important figures in modern design, known for bringing architecture, furniture and interiors together into a single, unified approach. Through the 1950s and 60s he designed buildings, interiors and furniture as one system, with Fritz Hansen producing that work at scale.
The Model 3600 sits within that period. A round top on four slim steel legs, it reflects Jacobsen’s move toward lighter, more adaptable furniture for shared spaces. Not heavy or fixed — designed to move easily between dining rooms, offices and public settings, which is why it still feels current.
That thinking shows in the construction. The teak veneer top on a plywood core keeps the profile thin and stable, while the separate steel legs support it without closing in the space underneath. Nothing decorative, nothing extra — just a thin top and evenly spaced legs that keep the table balanced in use.
Shown here with the Series 7 chair, one of Jacobsen’s most widely recognised designs, the connection is immediate. It’s a familiar reference point that places the table clearly within his work.
