Schiavello Palomino Chair by Ivan Woods

Schiavello’s philosophy is “anything is possible”. As a multi-faceted business, this ethos has been a crucial part of their success in developing intelligent, inspiring, ecological and resilient solutions for the office, home and public spaces.

Built on a foundation of traditional values and future-thinking, they are dedicated to creating a legacy of relationships and places that add value to people’s lives. Through a culture of learning and entrepreneurship, Schiavello strive to challenge their own thinking and work collaboratively in order to drive innovation and deliver the best possible solutions for their customers and clients.

Speaking of collaborations, Schiavello enjoyed a long-standing partnership with the late Australian designer, Ivan Woods. Woods’ career spanned more than 30 years, specialising in commercial interiors, workspace design and products, he drew inspiration from his travels, working on multiple projects across the UK, US, Germany and Italy. Woods and Schiavello shared a mutual passion for creating inspirational environments, operating under the principle that designs and products must empower both the people using it and the environment in which it is placed. This partnership has produced highly acclaimed collections such as the Kayt and Toro ranges.

These days office environments are evolving quickly, and as such so is the trend towards furniture that is better suited to agile working situations, and pieces that are dynamic enough to be part of both the office and home.

Enter the Palomino chair. The versatile younger sibling of the Paloma lounge (also designed by Woods), the Palomino is a lounge chair at heart, attempting to bridge the ever-closing gap between the office and home. Described as inviting and calming, the Palomino’s soft sweeping lines create an attractive yet refined aesthetic. With a low back, the chair wraps around the back to the arm rests, designed to cradle the body and create a high level of seating comfort. In true Woods style, this piece denotes carefully considered geometry and is enriched through fine detailing and craftmanship.

The Palomino is upholstered in a fabric that harnesses a unique technique to weave together a number of different coloured threads. When the threads catch the light at different points it creates subtle variations in colour… from a cool mint green through to a grey. (Check out the video on our Instagram for an example of this!)

Suited to multiple dwellings, at the office the Palomino could well sit in breakout areas, training rooms, meeting rooms and boardrooms, whilst at home, this chair could be found in a home office, living area or dining space. The possibilities are endless.

We have the Schiavello Palomino on a sled base available now. So if you’re looking for an elegant, comfortable and calming addition to almost any space, then this is the chair for you.
