Herman Miller Aeron Remastered Office Chairs
The Herman Miller Aeron Remastered is the updated version of one of the most recognisable office chairs ever made. Originally launched in 1994, the Aeron was created by Bill Stumpf and Don Chadwick and stood apart from the conventional upholstered office chairs of the period, introducing an entirely different approach to high-performance task seating.
Herman Miller introduced the Remastered Aeron in 2016, working again with Don Chadwick to update the original without losing what made it so distinctive. The familiar curved frame remains, while the tilt, support and suspension systems were extensively updated.
By the late 1990s, the Aeron had become closely associated with Silicon Valley, where it was embraced by a new generation of technology companies. Its distinctive look and technical approach helped turn the high-performance task chair into a status symbol in its own right. The design is also held in the permanent collection of New York’s Museum of Modern Art.
More than thirty years later, the Aeron is still instantly recognisable and highly sought after. It remains one of the few office chairs known well beyond the workplace, while still being a serious everyday task chair.
The Remastered version carries that identity forward with the refinements of the 2016 redesign. Aerons remain among the most sought-after office chairs we see, rarely staying in our showroom for long, and Remastered examples are among the quickest to go.
