X-Series Round Table by Ross Didier

“Good art communicates ideas and good design is useful, then the stories [they] create [are] inspiring.” Ross Didier.

With a proud family background in design and manufacturing, and personal study in Industrial Design and Sculpture, it was only natural for Australian industrial designer Ross Didier to combine these passions. Fusing art and design with an intention to produce high quality products that are full of character, Didier has created some of the most innovative and original furniture designs of our time.

His approach of playing, experimenting and continually striving to make interesting design is combined with the following design principle: the concepts that make it to commercial production must be saleable, innovative, sculptural and most importantly useful. This ethos has made for some eclectic and intriguing pieces that have been procured by some of the biggest brands in the world.

The manufacturing process is just as important; “through rigorous experimentation, honesty to materials and deep respect for process, we work to a strict code of conduct and push for accessible quality. Celebrating the inherent soul of our products by giving raw beauty the dignity it deserves.”

Didier’s idea of design as “engineered art” is evident in his X-Series range. The concept for this collection was to design a versatile table system to accommodate a range of table solutions. The result is an assemblage of tables with simple design and an understated, utilitarian charm.

We have the X-Series round table available in a bright blue, which exudes a playful, effervescent feel. Manufactured in Australia, the base of the table is made from steel tube, solid plate steel and cast aluminium, and the table top is made from a compact laminate. Suitable for indoor or outdoor areas, the minimal design aesthetic makes this the perfect table for multiple settings and activities; from coffee and breakfast to meetings or study, get a bit of colour and creativity into your environment. This Didier piece is simple, modern design at its best.
