Ex-Defence Partners Desk

We have a rare 1950’s Ex-Defence Partners Desk available.

This particular desk has been stamped ‘D↑’. The Broad Arrow stamp (↑) originated in England as early as the 14th Century and was used to indicate government property. Later on it became a mark of military ownership and has been used by Britain and the Commonwealth on all manner of Defence items; from furniture and weaponry, to watches, binoculars and cutlery. A ‘D’ stamp alongside the Broad Arrow indicates the property of the Commonwealth Department of Defence in Australia.

Beautifully designed, the desk has ample storage, with 8 drawers on one side, and 2 cupboards and 2 drawers on the opposite side. It also has 4 slide-out boards atop each pedestal to create extra space. With a metal frame and an exquisitely toned timber veneer, this desk was manufactured to last, and features a classic desktop of green leather with gold tooling.

A rare 1950’s Commonwealth Defence desk like this doesn’t come along every day, so get in touch for more details.
