Workspace Studio Workstations
Established in 1911 in South Australia by Thomas Brown, a so-called visionary of furniture factory production, the TH Brown furniture dynasty has spanned three generations. Through Thomas Brown’s focus on quality and craftmanship, by the 1920’s the company had become one of Australia’s largest furniture manufacturers, and by the 1950’s they were producing some of the most sought-after mid-century pieces in Australia.
The company was bought by Workspace in 1987, and the TH Brown name faded somewhat, however it is returning to the fore of furniture manufacturing through grandson, Simon Brown. In 2018, he collaborated with Workspace to reproduce some of Brown’s most iconic pieces (with small tweaks to quality and sustainability practices). His aim for the future is to breathe life back into his grandfather’s name and the values associated with the original TH Brown business: impeccable design, quality craftmanship and through it all, family.
With its manufacturing base still proudly in South Australia, Workspace pride themselves not only on continuing the TH Brown tradition of industry-leading quality and service, but on their commitment to the celebration and promotion of Australian furniture design and manufacturing. Over the years they have been able to move with the ebbs and flows of both the industry and clients, to continually produce pieces that are practical and easily assimilated, but always with an emphasis on supreme craftmanship.
We currently have a number of Workspace workstations in stock.
The L-shaped workstation (available in 1400mm x 1600mm, as well as 1600mm x 1400mm) is a simple yet elegant desk space. The steel splayed tube legs are adjustable (by a technician), allowing the workstation to be set to an optimal height to maximise comfort and ergonomic safety.
We also have the 1800mm x 600mm desks in stock. These are a versatile square version of the L-shape and are perfect for large meeting tables or can be separated into workstations by partitions. These also have the same splayed tube legs in steel.
The simplicity of the Workspace workstations reflect a clean and refined look; a blank canvas that will slip easily into any working environment. Both styles are available in a polar white top and grey base and are perfect for use as a single desk or as multiple workstations.
